Thanksgiving in Photos
My Thanksgiving started out at 6AM with a few errands as well as a yoga class and a great run at the gym.
I had the honor of being invited to Pastor Erwin and Mrs. Kim's home to share a meal with their family and friends. This meant I got to help Mrs Kim prep a meal for about 30 people.
Potatoes were pealed and meat was sliced. Seriously, I have never cooked such a big meal with so many hands in the kitchen before. It was definitely a fun experience. We all worked really hard and laughed even harder.
I always joke with Mrs Kim and tell her that her house looks like Pinterest. Any time she has us over for small group, the food is so thoughtfully prepared and the eating area decorated beautifully. Thanksgiving was no exception.
Can you believe how beautifully they decorated?! The place settings were so adorable that it was everything I could do NOT to take it home. However, I decided that stealing from my pastor probably wasn't the best idea so I put my dishes in their sink instead. All of the food was absolutely wonderful (including the mashed potatoes I was in charge of). I fought the urge to get a ton of seconds because I had another dinner to go to in a few hours. Had I not had another event to attend, I would have probably just camped out by the food table, eating my afternoon away.
After such a fun day with my church family, I headed home to prep baked mac and cheese as well as brussels sprouts to take to a Friendsgiving. Unfortunately, I was still so stuffed from earlier in the day that I barely got to eat what I made.
All in all, even though I admittedly don't like Turkey Day and I was away from my family, I had a wonderful day with friends who I love very much.
