Review: Frostings Cakeshop
So talk about a post that's long overdue!
Back in February, I had the opportunity to help organize a small blogger meet up at Frostings Cakeshop in Hope Mills, NC. I was so excited to connect with Fayetteville area bloggers in order to let them know about all the awesome things the Fayetteville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau has in the works, all while supporting local businesses.
Frostings was kind enough to have us come by and not only try some of their treats but also TEACH us how to decorate cupcakes and macaroons! It was seriously awesome you guys. First off, I was extremely anxious to decorate these desserts because I am horrible at that type of thing. I knew everyone would be documenting our day and like... I wasn't about to representing on the internet with some jacked up cupcakes I decorated!!! However, the staff instruction was great. We learned how to put icing in piping bags and then the correct swirl technique to get the icing just right. We also learned how to infuse other flavors inside the actual cupcake itself which obviously I had to try.
As of right now, Frostings isn't hosting cupcake/cake decorating parties but it is something they are interested in doing n the future. HOWEVER, I have a sneaky suspicion if you really wanted to host a party for you and your friends, they might be able to work something out for you.
Even if you aren't really in the mood to try your hand at dessert decorating, you should definitely stop by if you are in the Fayetteville/Hope Mills area to grab some cupcakes, macaroons, or even order a cake for a special occasion. Their stuff not only tastes great but looks even better. I highly recommend checking them out!
