Sam Hunt Concert

Sam Hunt is the ultimate in my book. He's tall, southern, talented, and played college football (a fact I wish that his team/media outlets would stop pushing because he is so much more than a former athlete). My Sam Hunt obsession started over a year ago and I have been waiting to see him live ever since. He's played in LA a few times but it always sells out quickly. Recently, when I found out that he would be playing a special GRAMMY concert, I knew I had to grab tickets before I missed my chance to make my dreams a reality.

CMA Recap

Red Carpet

Scotty McCreery - Jon Kopaloff/FilmMagic

I LOVE this look on my fellow North Carolinian, Scott McCreery. Not something he would normally wear and I think he made the right choice.

Shawna Thompson - Michael Loccisano/Getty Images

Have you ever seen a more ADORABLE and absolutely FULL GLITZ pregnant woman? No, you have not. Shawna Thompson (of Thompson Squared) shut it down.

I personally don't know who Lauren is (sorry Lauren, I am sure you are great) but I LOVE her dress. I have always wanted a (shorter) dress like this.

Let's be honest, Justin Timberlake could wear a paper sack and look amazing. Now that JT has performed at the CMA's, can we just get a country album from him already?! I have been saying this since I was 12!

Kacey Musgraves -  Michael Loccisano/Getty Images

Maybe it's because I am also a brunette who loves a bold lip but I LOVE everything about Kacey's look!

Sam Hunt - Michael Loccisano/Getty Images

Alright guys. If you follow me on social, you will know I have a very real (and sad) Sam Hunt obsession. However, I am NOT the most obsessed with his look! I am not a fan of mixing prints. It literally pains me. I would have preferred him wearing a black blazer but everything else is perfect! (Because Sam Hunt is perfect.)

Lennon & Maisy - Michael Loccisano/Getty Images

Like every other person of the internet, I love Lennon & Maisy. Their outfits match but aren't too stereotypical "sisters matching" AND are still very age appropriate. Love love love.

Jennifer Nettles - Michael Loccisano/Getty Images

The dress is more lavender on screen and I generally HATE lavender but I LOVE this dress. LOVE. Also Jennifer is so fit and flawless.

Lauren & Thomas Rhett - Michael Loccisano/Getty Images

Okay so I am very low key obsessed with how cute Lauren is. I follow Thomas on social media and when I see the adorable photos he posts of his wife, I die inside. I am SO GLAD that she wore such a great dress! Also love her hair and minimal makeup.

Little Big Town -

I wasn't jazzed about Kimberly Schlapman and Karen Fairchild's red carpet dresses but their performance outfits were on point! Can I wear that sparkly jumpsuit that Karen is wearing to my wedding please?

Best performance of the night goes to our boy JT and Chris Stapleton. I, like everyone else, am a huge fan of Chris Stapleton and I thought this partnership was perfect! Tennessee boys do it better, y'all!

Sam Hunt performed "Take Your Time" which is maybe my least favorite song of his. Regardless as to if I enjoy the song or not, he did a great job. Of course, it's Sam Hunt. He could go on stage and eat cereal and I would be like "THIS IS THE MOST REVOLUTIONARY THING IN MUSIC TODAY!!!"

Thomas Rhett and Fall Out Boy is an odd combination but it worked. Sure, it was a little awkward and spotty at times but for the most part, I loved it! I could have done without the dances though.

Maddie & Tae did a stripped down version of "Girl From A Country Song" and it was wonderful. I love the irony of them performing this song in front of a crowd filled with men who sing about girls in their jacked up trucks.

Also, an honorable mention goes to UNC's mascot Ramses who had the chance to perform with Brad Paisley!

What was your favorite part of the CMA's?
